I have been whining about wanting it to be autumn and it is finally, officially, 100% here. It is glorious. All those falling leaves and burst of warm colours – gorgeous. Definitely my jam. Also, I am excited because my birthday is around the corner. Therefore I wanted to look my best and to up my skincare game.

I have always had a problem with my skin looking dull. Even if it was blemishes free, it always had this dark, sad, yellowish colour that just doesn’t look flattering at all. Combine that with my dark hair and it becomes even more obvious. (I am not crazy, light skin and dark hair = everything is visible af) . Sad truth, but what can you do?!) So I decided to work towards cleaning my complexion from the inside out, but I will start  with the ‘out’ (for now).  I was browsing around the web in a quest of finding that magical good quality/price balance. What striked my fancy at the end was – Kiehl’s.

Now, I know that is a well known brand and everyone have heard about them. But if you think about it, there is a reason. Also they have come up with some new products the last couple of months that might interest you too.

KIEHL’S DAILY REVIVING CONCENTRATE – I have been running away from facial oils like they are the devil (drama, much?).  My skin does tend to be pretty oily at times and I thought the oils will just add to that problem. How wrong was I? With the change of the seasons, comes a slight change in your skin. It gets drier and it needs all the help it can get.

Facial oils can help with that (even thought, technically they are not a moisturizer), but they also act as a barrier to all the harmful outer elements.  What made me interested in Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate thought was that it was made specifically to make the skin radiant and alive. This was exactly my goal for this season.  Since I am going to reach a new number on the scale that starts with ‘3’ (OMG< NO!) at the beginning of November I also liked that it promised me to make me look youthful. Sign me in for that!

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate contains all kind of goodies for achieving glowing skin:

  • Ginger root – Thanks to its antioxidant properties it can reduce hypopigmented scars and rejuvenates the skin.
  • Sunflower Oil – It helps maintain the skin barrier and is rich in linoleic acid. It is also known to improve skin smoothness, texture and hydration.
  • Tamanu Oil – It is an antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti – inflammatory and helps fight blemishes, acne and wrinkles.
  • Paraben free, 100% natural origin, Mineral oil free, Non-comedogenic, Non-acnegenic

I will be honest. The first time I decided to try it, I was prepared to wake up with clogged pores and some oily pillowcases.  At least this is what I expected when I first took the product out of the packaging. But my expectations slightly change when I saw how lightweight the oil actually was. I need no more than six drops to cover all of my face. Then it was super easy (and surprisingly pleasant) to massage the product into my skin. And the smell… it was amazing. The blend of all those botanical oils works beautifully with each other and makes the experience a bit of a novelty. As always the Kiehl’s packaging is very stylish in a little, glass bottle. Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Comcentrate comes with a pipette, making it very economical and practical.

What the Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate did for my skin was a work of art. I was honestly, shocked to see a result right away. I even thought it might be the ‘painkiller effect’ in the begging so I gave it a couple more tries, before I was sure. But the oil work beautifully. It sinks in the skin like a dream, leaving it with a little, protective film, but it does not feel oily at all.
After using it for about a month I found that my skin looks cleaner, smoother. Altogether my complexion is healthier. I like to use it in the mornings too for achieving a more ‘woken up’ look and to get my daily protection from the pesky pollution filled environment.
